The thing with city maps (and New York,
in particular) is that, it's often mainly squares and rectancles. So I tried making something more playful, still very geometric but using shapes reminding me of kids toys. That way, it feels like the city is just a big toybox.
It took me two years to think how awesome it would be
to create another map. And I unconsciously choose to level up the game by making gradiants as well. I guess London is less square (in my mind anyways) than New York City, so I wanted it
to feel more fluid.
Who knows, I'll probably be doing Paris in 2020.
